About me

A writer at heart and by trade, I have cultivated my skills in the public/media relations world to produce quantifiable success conceiving, executing and assessing communications strategies and professional relationships.  My diverse writing experience has been featured in political campaigns, local, regional and national publications.

Through creativity, research and organization I am able to streamline information from myriad disciplines and sources in order to clearly and effectively relate the desired key message.  Whether proactively or in the midst of crisis management, I work well under pressure and produce consistent results.

As the Communications Director for a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, I am the primary spokesperson, putting to use my strong writing skills and a wide variety of relationships with media personnel, non-profit outfits, public and elected officials and community representatives across the region, state and country.  I am responsible for the editorial and print production of all media forms, including: speeches, op-eds, brochures, talking points, literature, websites, videos and social media.

In my previous role of Public Information Officer for the Middlesex Sheriff's Office, I was responsible for all aspects of both internal and external communication and outreach in a county consisting of 1.5 million citizens, managed a communications staff and prepared executive staff for media interaction.

In my personal time, I have successfully created and maintained communications strategies that reach across all media/social media forums for political campaigns and local businesses. I have volunteered my PR services at several events and I write a monthly travel column for a group of local newspapers.

After recently completing my first novel (literary fiction) I am in search of a literary agent and publisher.  My travel blog, www.whereverittakes.com, takes a look at my domestic and international travel through narrative experiences.
